Eat at your peril

Eat at your peril

There is a saying "Eat at your peril". From personal experience, I have learnt how true is this statement.

We went to Coorg for a four day holiday immediately before Christmas. We had stayed in a Guest House in Madhikere, located in the middle of a Coffee Estate. Though we enjoyed visiting places, our stomach started bothering us from the third day onwards. There was somethihng radically wrong with the food we ate. On return to Bangalore,I started having loose motions early moring on Monday. In a matter of two hours, I had to go the bath-room atleast twenty times. At some point, I became so weak that I could not even walk from the bed-room to the bath-room. It was at this point, my wife and son compelled me to go to Wockhardt Hospital, a distance of two kilometres from my residence. Duriong this period, I was not ble to breath properly. I was also suffering from fever and shivering..

I spent twpo days in the Hospital- one day in ICU and another day in the Ward- -an eminently forgettable experience. I have realised that I have reached a stage in life where I cannnot eat whatever I like and whenever I like. I have always believed that body follows the mind. If we keep the mind healthy and cheerful, nothing will go wrong with the body.It is now clear to me that this is only partially true. There are other external factors which might affect your health very badly.. It takes a bad experience to learn a few good things. Food poisoning can wreck the body and the mind very badly.

With such a bad experince behind me towards the end of the year, I am hoping that 2010 will be good in all aspects.

  1. It is true that a complete control is required in food intake though they say age is only a state of mind
