1)In his talk on "Bharathil Dharmam", Mr Krishnan talks about the Gods cursing Devas and Rishis. My first reaction is that why should God curse? Is HE not all merciful? .Is that being done to inculcate fear? Frankly, I can only think of God as ever so merciful and kind. Wlll any one throw some light on this?.
2)Mr Velukudi Krishnan maintains that one has to face the consequences of "bad karma" either in this birth or future births. He also talks a lot about Bhakthi and Prayer. If Bakthi and "gnana" can bring about Mukthi, will not prayers and Bakthi eliminate or atleast mitigate the effects of bad karma. In other words, can one eliminate the consequences of "bad karma" through bakthi?.. The route, according to Mr Krishnan,is Bhakthi-gnana-mukthi.
3)According to Mr Krishnan, true Bakthi is not possible without compassion, love and truth. When a human being has all these qualities, Bakthi will follow automatically. Therefore, the first step is compassion, love and truth.
4)If the body and soul are different, how come the sins committed by the body are transferred to the soul. Body, according to him, is only an instrument to achieve certain desires/goals. At what stage do we realise that body and soul are different?. I am reminded of the story of Shiva and Sankaracharya. Shiva, in the form of a Paraya, tries to cross a bridge which is narrow and where only one person can cross.Shankaracharya comes to the same bridge and asks the Paraya (Lord Shiva) to go away. Then Shiva asks Sankaracharya " Do you wnat my body or the soul to go away from here?". Immediately, Shankaracharya realises that such a question cannot be asked by a Paraya. He then realises it is Lord Shiva and falls at his feet.
5)Will doing one!s duties (karma) alone be enough to reach "gnana". Doing duties in a righteous way is very necessary. One cannot earn money in whichever way to perform one!s duties. The definition of Karma needs more clarification.
Mr Krishnan is a great scholor and whatever he tells must be true.
Yet, these doubts linger in my mind.
