Mail sent to my children on 9th February 2011.

> I met my old friend Mr Nagarajan in June last year at the
> time of marriage > reception of my younger brother!s daughter in Chennai.
This meeting happened after a very long time.
>
> Mr Nagarajan had worked with me in the Zonal Office of UCO
> Bank and was elder to me by four years. He was staying in Eldams
> Road,Alwarpet,Chennai and we used to travel
> together to the office. He was unmarried and lived with his
> younger brother, who was also a bachelor.
> This younger brother had died some fifteen years ago when
> Mr Nagarajan moved to living in an Ashram on the outskirts of Chennai.
>
> When I met him in June,he looked very weak. I asked him
> whether he had any regrets about not getting married and not enjoying bliss
>of > parenthood..I also asked him whether he would blame anyone for remaining
>single or> whether he nurtured any > grievances against anybody. His answer
>was "No--
' I am happy the way Iam.Who has informed you that I am alone. I surrender to
God> absolutely. He is my companion. When there
> is no one to talk to, I talk to HIM. HE gives me company. I
> get up early in the morning
> confident that HE will take care of me. My surrender is
> absolute and complete".
>
> This did not surprise me. I have also been following this
> for the last so many years.
> Before getting up in the morning and before going to bed in
> the night, I pray
> with the
> following sloga:
>
> "Shri Narayana Saranow, Saranam Prabathye,Sreemathaye
> Narayanaya Namaha".
>
> This prayer has given me immense peace and confidence. I
> never get depressed
> becuase
> I am alone. There is a tremendous sense of security when I
> pray this way.
>
> Let me tell you about what is mentioned in
> Mahabaratha .Draupathi asked Krishna
> "Hey Lord, why did not you help me immediately when I was
> being humiliated"
> The Lord replied,
> "Hey Draupathi, you did not ask for my help in the
> beginning, Holding on to one
> end of the saree, you were first trying to resist. Then you
> were also appealing
> to wise men like
> Bhishmar,Drona and other elders for justice. Only when you
> threw up your both
> hands
> above your head and asked for my help, I did the needful".
>
> This concept of surrender is emphasised in a big way in
> Mahabaratha.
>
> Remember that God is your biggest friend and Benefactor.
